I'm stopping

I'm stopping my activity in Belgium, what should I do? Ending your activities in Belgium requires you to comply with certain administrative procedures.

If you were operating as a natural person

You must request from the Business Desk the deregistration from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) and the closure of your file with the social insurance fund.
Depending on your sector of activity, other organisations must also be notified (VAT, Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC)...).
The VAT deregistration is a mandatory procedure. Breaches are punishable by fines. UCM can take care of it for you...

If you were operating as a company

If you leave the company and cease all self-employed activity, the procedures are identical to those to be carried out by a natural person.

A visit to the Business Desk is required and other formalities may be mandatory depending on the specifics of your activity.

If your company completely ceases its activities, don't forget to close your company's file with our social insurance fund.

Stopping activities within your company and terminating the company itself are two different things.

Cessation of activity can be temporary: the company remains in existence.

Terminating your company requires its dissolution and liquidation. At the end of the process, the company will no longer exist.

In any case, our Business Counter will support you.
